Rutt’s Hawaiian Cafe has been featured on Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives, on the Food Network. They used to be on Washington BLVD. But, earlier in 2017, they moved to a bigger location on Washington PLACE. Matter of fact just a few blocks west of Tito's Tacos!
It's an interesting restaurant. On the east side of the building is their "express service" There are some tables and a window to order food. The main dining area has a bar and tables spread out.
Salmon Royales, $10.45 3 egg scrambled omelette over white rice, onions, bean sprouts, green onions, with a sweet Hawaiian roll.
This is an weird dish. The eggs, rice, bean sprouts and onions were pretty bland. But, the salmon was salty as hell, and there was a very small amount of salmon! If you put teriyaki sauce this dish had some flavor. But, overall not a good dish. There is a lot of food, but most of it is rice, which is inexpensive, and veggies. Very little salmon, which is the reason you're paying the $10.45.
Service is below average. They are friendly when I asked if this was a new location. But I was never asked how the food was. They never refilled my drink.
I wouldn't go back to Rutt's Hawaiian Cafe again. At best mediocre food and below average service, no thank you!
